HISTORY OF WORTZ CONSULTING
2023
Founded on the principles of faith, fairness, and honesty, Wortz Consulting has provided services to the Wiregrass and surrounding areas for twenty years; I am grateful for my loyal clients and the opportunity to service your needs over the years.
2004-2023
Along the way, I added large and small-scale audio and video services, stage lighting, stadium sound, and infrastructure.
2003
I started providing IT services to those in the Wiregrass region in December 2003, when Wortz Consulting went full-time.
1993-1996
I served as the company's chief support technician when the business split off as Hitech Solutions, Inc. around 1993. Boyd Brothers Transportation hired me as the network administrator in 1995, and I launched the business's first website and online presence in August 1996. After building original C and RPG code, I also constructed Boyd's first load-tracking and tractor-tracking system.
1991
I worked as a co-op at Hughes Missile Inc. in the spring of 1991, where I performed fundamental computer maintenance duties and ultimately discovered my passion for PC repair and troubleshooting. In the fall of that year, I started working at Coates, McCullar and Biggers, PC, where I sold, installed, maintained, and troubleshooted computers for the business and its customers.
1991
After high school, Frank Barefield encouraged me to enroll in Sparks State Technical College, where I earned an associate's degree in computer information systems in 1991.
1989
I started doing data entry work for Bob Green at Eufaula Surveying Company when I was a senior in high school.
1986
When I was fourteen, my parents purchased a Tandy Color Computer 3. On this computer, I began writing BASIC computer programs, sparking my interest in technology and computers.
